The XP Team Week course introduces the practices
to an entire development team, including programmers, customer representatives,
managers, and other stakeholders. This is a lot of territory.
In addition to covering the programmer practices (TDD, refactoring, frequent integration,
common codebase, pair programming), this 5-day course teaches the
entire team the customer-facing practices that make up the Planning
Game (user story elicitation and estimation, release planning, and
iteration planning).
The exact format of the XP Team Week depends on what your team most needs to focus on,
on the amount of advance preparation of site and infrastructure that can take place,
on the roles that can be filled with available students,
and on the extent to which we need to use your own production code vs.
our canned exercise code. We may spend the week mostly programming,
or we may spend it doing simulations and games.
In any case, the XP Team Week forces the team to work together
to solve problems in a controlled setting. When they are done,
attendees are ready to begin applying the practices to a real-world
pilot project, under Adaption's guidance.
Note: Course contents are subject to improvement without notice. :-)
